Through my involvement with Fondation Novandi, I aim to contribute to equal opportunities for young people. I hope to pass on what I myself have received, much like handing over a baton in a relay race. This commitment takes shape in support for young people by providing them with the means to pursue their education and achieve their goals, notably through the awarding of scholarships.
My personal engagement is also rooted in a broader perspective, inspired by the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14–30), which invites each of us to make fruitful use of the gifts we have been given—like a tree that “bears fruit” for the benefit of others.
Together with my husband Charles, we have always been deeply aware of the importance of education for young people. We, in turn, wished to professionalize philanthropy within our family and pass this commitment on to future generations.
Faithful to the heritage of the Burrus generations in Boncourt, we wanted to continue our engagement in Switzerland by helping strengthen the tremendous asset that young people represent, notably through various forms of support for their education. For, as the Fondation Novandi motto states, “The strength of a country lies in its youth, and the strength of its youth lies in education.”
Through our involvement in the Foundation, we hope that this financial support will enable each person to move forward with their projects, to develop their potential and their education, and to build future opportunities that allow them to choose their path.
For those who have benefited from this support, it is their turn to pass on this opportunity, at some point in their lives, to other deserving individuals, so that this powerful momentum may endure over time and help others to soar.
In my capacity as Secretary of the Foundation Board, I consider it an honour and a privilege to take part in the many initiatives undertaken by Fondation Novandi in support of young people, particularly in the canton of Jura, which is dear to me.
In line with the founders’ vision, my commitment within the Foundation reflects a resolute dedication to the education and development of young people. By enabling each child, adolescent, or young adult to fully develop their potential, the Foundation becomes the lever through which my convictions take shape and translate into concrete action.
